****UPDATES FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE COMING SOON ****
The health office is open whenever school is in session.
Physical examinations are not done at school. It is recommended that your child be examined annually by your healthcare provider. At a minimum, children should have a physical examination at early childhood (pre-K-grade 3), preadolescence (grades4-6), and adolescence (grades 7-12).
Children entering sixth grade in the fall must meet the following immunization requirements.
One dose of a meningococcal vaccine after age 11.
One dose of a Tdap vaccine. A child does not need a Tdap if a dose of DTP/DTaP or Td has been given within 5 years. Documentation of the vaccination is required.
The HPV vaccine is also recommended to be given during the same visit but is not required in New Jersey schools. The HPV vaccine protects against infections that can cause cancer . It is given in a series of 2 or 3 injections.
Please send documentation of immunization to school as soon as possible after the vaccines are given.
Children entering Pre-K and Kdg must be up to date on all of the childhood vaccinations. Documentation of vaccinations must be provided to the school before school entry.
One dose of the influenza vaccine is required annually for chidren up to 59 months of age enrolled in pre-school. The vaccine is to be given between September 1 and December 31 of each year.
